Jackson County PDF Print E-mail
The Jackson County Great Places proposal is centered on the ideas of accessibility, recreation, and the restoration of historic landmarks around the county.  Recreation options within Jackson County will be greatly increased with the construction of the Jackson County Bike Trail, Mill Creek Walkway, and a series of canoe trails on the three branches of the Maquoketa River. In addition to the Mill Creek Walkway, the City of Bellevue has proposed an infrastructure project in their downtown to make the area more accessible to those with limited mobility or who are handicapped.  Furthermore, the restoration projects of the Clinton Engines Administration Building and Jackson County Insane Asylum will preserve two buildings that inform visitors of the industrial and institutional history of the country.
