The River’s Edge project of Council Bluffs will expand recreational opportunities, provide for additional housing and commercial activities, and improve the quality of life in the Council Bluffs-Omaha Metropolitan Region. Council Bluff’s first “puzzle piece” is the creation of a regional riverfront park, complete with a pedestrian bridge spanning the Missouri River to Omaha.  Furthermore, the former Playland Park area will be redeveloped into a mixed-use neighborhood featuring housing and commercial activities in close proximity to the riverfront and park.  These projects form a common community vision focused on the revitalization of areas adjacent to Council Bluffs greatest amenity – the Missouri River.
