Iowa Community Cultural Grant (ICCG) The Iowa Community Cultural Grant Program (ICCG) provides matching grants to support projects that provide jobs for current Iowa residents while enhancing Iowa's artistic, cultural and historical resources. Communities can use funds to hire a consultant for various projects and/or hire an artist to create a piece of work; this grant funds wages only. Small Operating Support Grants (SOS) SOS grants can be used to purchase one-time equipment or off-set salary or utility bills to be used for programming. Up to $5,000 is available for arts and culture organizations with annual operating budgets of less than $150,000. These funds are not available to individuals, governmental bodies, or private, for-profit organizations. Artists in Schools & Communities Residency Major and Mini Grants The Iowa Arts Council Artist in Schools & Communities (AISC) Residency Major Grant and Mini Grant helps to bring professional teaching artists into Iowa’s schools and communities. The Artists in Schools & Communities Residency Model is designed to provide students an in-depth experience with professional teaching artists. Residencies may involve one artist, an artist company, or several artists working in different disciplines. You may request up to $10,000 for a Major Grant or up to $1,500 for a Mini Grant, but no more than 50 percent of the total expenses of the project. These projects may focus on but are not limited to the traditions of ethnic groups, occupational groups, religious groups, and distinct geographical regions. Organization Major and Mini Grants Iowa Arts Council Organization Project Major Grants and Mini Grants support eligible organizations to plan and implement a wide variety of arts-related projects and programs. The program supports artistic excellence and quality arts experiences for Iowans. Examples include but are not limited to exhibitions, performances, readings, art fairs and festivals, commissioning projects, or developing strategic plans for arts organizations. Partnership Grants The Iowa Arts Council board awards a limited number of Partnership Grants each year, to support significant arts-related projects that will enhance the lives of Iowans throughout the state and encourage and support visionary thinking of Iowans. Non-profit organizations, governmental entities, schools, area education agencies, and tribes are all eligible for these funds. There is no minimum or maximum grant amount for Partnership Grants, but your request should be consistent with the needs of your project. EZ 1-2-3 Grants The Iowa Arts Council's EZ 1-2-3 Grants help bring Iowa artists to theatres, festivals, auditoriums and schools across Iowa. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, schools, area education agencies, and local, state, and federal government entities. Funds may be requested up to $500, but no more than 50% of the total expenses of the activity or event. All applicants must cash match EZ 1-2-3 Grants. Arts Building Communities in Schools (ABCs) Grants Arts Building Communities in Schools grant funds are intended to support partnerships between schools and their communities over a three year period to improve student arts learning. Grants awarded through this pilot program will support the development of school/arts partnerships to enhance the delivery of local K-12 education in and through the arts. Applicant teams must include at least 5 identified members of the school staff and community. All partners are required to work as a team to develop and implement the program. Cultural Express The Cultural Express program was created in collaboration with traditional artists and communities in Iowa to bring diverse traditional arts to libraries and museums throughout the state. It is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts Challenge America: Access to the Arts Grant. These funds are available to Iowa museums and libraries that are either a part of local government or have nonprofit and tax-exempt status. These groups are eligible to apply for up to $8,000 to help offset the costs of this traveling program.
